Notes Not Ads

Blocks ad and tracker requests with packaged rules, then finds the ad and clutter containers left in the page and replaces each with a flat card carrying one of up to five notes you wrote. Empty your notes and it removes the surfaces instead, and the page closes over them.

The card is measured to the slot it lands in — type size, padding and leading are computed from that box and stepped down until the note fits — so a leaderboard, a sidebar rectangle and a skyscraper each read differently. It overlaps with ad blockers; the difference is what replaces the ad: quiet space you own, rather than another feed.

Conservative on purpose. Whole domains where it does nothing at all, a second tier where blocking stays on but nothing in the page is replaced, and in-page guards that keep it out of navigation, headers, footers, forms, comments, article bodies and editors. Missing an ad is preferred to breaking a page.

For people who want their attention back, not just fewer ads.
